WHY?Why Africa? Why Missionary? To serve as a missionary in Africa has always been a dream of mine. I have always had a passion for the poor, and others in need. Growing up I understand how it is to struggle. I also know how it feels when others have compassion for you and your family. For one to help without expecting anything in return, is one of the best feelings one can experience from another human being. That is experiencing the Gospel mission, in Matthew 25, when Jesus says, "I was naked and you clothed me, I was hungry and you feed me, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me....in as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." (Matthew 25:35-40) Because of Jesus love I am responding to his unconditional love through service to others.
I have chosen to serve others in another part of the world with less distractions. I am searching for Jesus in his purest form. Lastly, I need Africa to teach me humility and love more then Africa needs me. |
Who I Am |
My name is Yesenia Sosa. I was born and raised in San Diego, Ca. Although I grew up poor, I was blessed with a loving Mother and Father, an older brother and younger sister who I am very close to, wonderful friends who I consider family, and a godly boyfriend of three years. Most importantly I have fallen in love with Jesus and that has changed my life forever. I have finished my second year at La Sierra University as a Religious Studies/Theology major. After Chad, I plan to return to finish my degree and give my life to serving others.
